From the mountains of Ifugao
Came a guy who locked himself up -
Whose careers crumbled, caught in a rut and row.
Still depressed and stressed - tears in a bitter cup.

Left to fly free - first Prince Hotel in KL;
Then the Lion City with no lions, but where-else?
Not knowing where to go or what to do;
And then a voice called  - “I’m here with you.”

He walked and walked the streets till dark;
Then stood in front of a backpackers hostel,
Somewhere in Chinatown, near People`s Park,

Greeted by the Poet who used few words to tell
`You`re my friend`, and warmly shook his hand.
So the guy had found a home in a far away land.

I would recommend this hostel to my friends. It is nice and clean and the staff are friendly especially Andrew. This place in the heart of Chinatown is filled with excitement and one can learn a lot about Chinese history and culture there. It is also very convenient, as the hostel is located within walking distance from two MRT stations - The Chinatown Station and the Outram Park MRT Station that link to many tourist attractions nearby.

As a backpacker, my concerns are cleanliness, convenience and coolness. I found these qualities in the hostel. Above all, the staff, Romelyn and Andrew were very friendly and nice. Throughout my travel, I have never known a hostel situated so well for business and sightseeing in the city centre and so closely linked to heritage and culture and close to food centres and shopping centres. Staying within Chinatown is an experience I shall never forget. Everything is splendid. I have no hesitation in recommending this hostel to others.

We would like to thank the staff of the hostel for the great time at ServiceWorld Hostel. It ‘s a pity our stay was just for a few days but we had a nice time in the dormitory. Andrew, the owner of the hostel,was a great story teller. We also had the opportunity to meet people from several countries all over the world .

This is a great hostel to stay for a few nights. It was in a fantastic location in Chinatown. The couple who own this hostel are the nicest people ever.

Andrew is a very interesting man. Singapore was a step into the unknown for us but he was very welcoming and helpful. He gave us lots of information on the local area and history. The location is great, close to the major attractions of Chinatown with the local train stations very close as well. Toast and Tea plus Coffee in the morning is also a home comfort and this hostel very clean.

A small budget hostel but the best that I’ve ever stayed. Andrew and his wife are so friendly they even shared their dinner with us. Excellent location! Would stay there again.

The staff are very welcoming and friendly. With toast and tea/coffee provided in the morning. Location is pretty good, right in Chinatown and 2 mins from an MRT station. It is also 2 mins from a hippo bus stop which is the open air bus tour around Singapore which is pretty handy. The hostel is very clean and there`s lockers for any valuables.  Only things a bit hard to find but Andrw sends you detailed directions and provided a phone number in case you get lost. We quite liked it anyway.
